What is a Nurse Practitioner?
At Her Optimal Health, our nurse practitioner provides specialized care to individuals seeking additional care outside of their family health care provider. The NP can address many health issues related to reproductive, menstrual and sexual health. Book with our Nurse practitioner if you are interested in preconceptual planning (planning for pregnancy), counseling and prescriptive care for contraception, struggling with heavy or painful menstrual periods, are experiencing intolerable symptoms of perimenopause or menopause. Initial Pap Exam & Health Counselling Appointment— Book this if you are in need of the following:
A pap test (Recommended to have done every 3 years)
STI screening
Have a vaginal/vulva health concern (rash, itch, discomfort, vaginal pain, pelvic pain, urinary symptoms)
Appointment cost: $140.00 for 60 min
Initial Contraceptive & Health Counselling Appointment— Book this if you are in need of the following:
Wanting to learn about contraceptive options
Want to start contraceptive treatment for birth control purposes OR regulation of menstrual cycle (Heavy, irregular, or painful periods)
Appointment cost: $140.00 for 60 min
Initial Full Health Assessment Consultation— Book this if you are experiencing the following:
Experiencing changes to menstrual health and think it may be perimenopause related
Experiencing changes to body and overall health post-menopause
Symptoms may include: sleep disturbances/insomnia, hot flashes/flushes, night sweats, irritability, emotional lability, sexual dysfunction/change in libido, muscle and/or joint pain without known injury.
Appointment cost: $175.00 for 75 min
Intra-Uterine Device (IUD) Insertion— Book this if you have completed the following:
Are wanting to get an IUD as your preferred form of birth control
Have already completed the “Initial contraceptive and health counselling visit”. This visit is considered a follow-up visit. It is not bookable online. Please book this appointment with your Nurse Practitioner or with reception.
Appointment cost: $150.00 for 60 min
RX Renewal— Book this if you are in need of the following:
You been prescribed a medication by our Nurse Practitioner and require a renewal. This is not to renew prescriptions you have received from a different practitioner. This type of appointment is not bookable online- please call the clinic if you are wanting to renew your prescription that was prescribed by our clinic.
Appointment cost: $25.00 for 15 min
General Follow-Up Visit— Book this if you have completed the following:
Have completed your initial assessment with our Nurse Practitioner
Require a follow-up appointment (these appointments tend to be 30 minutes, if you feel as though you will need longer, please let our reception know & they can book a time slot accordingly)
Appointment cost: $140.00 for 60 min OR $70.00 for 30 min
Inquiry Phone Call — Please book this if you require the following:
Have not been seen by our Nurse Practitioner before, but you are looking for some general information prior to booking & would like to speak with our Nurse Practitioner directly.
Appointment cost: $25.00 for 15 min
